Everytime I use alchemy on a playthrough I don't set it to my major/minor skills because I don't want it to level me up 10 times when I make stuff. 'hours harassing alchemy trader for ingredients' God I hope you are talking about ingame hours because alchemy is probably the easiest, fastest and broken skill to train in Morrowind.
